En plena temporada de premios, los Critics’ Choice Awards son considerados como una de las más fieles aproximaciones de lo que puede ocurrir cada temporada en la entrega de los Oscar. Más de 300 críticos norteamericanos se reúnen para destacar las mejores producciones surgidas del cine y la televisión, una tradición que se prepara para su 25ª entrega. La Critics Choice Association (CCA) acaba de anunciar los nominados para la ceremonia que se realizará el domingo 12 de enero, y que será transmitida por TNT (en español) y TNT Series (en idioma original), a partir de las 18.00 (MEX) / 19.00 (COL) / 21.00 (ARG / CHI) horas.

 La cinta The Irishman aparece como la favorita luego de sus 14 nominaciones, entre las que destacan Mejor Película, Mejor Actor (Robert De Niro), Mejor Actor Secundario (Al Pacino y Joe Pesci), Mejor Director (Martin Scorsese), Mejor Edición, Mejor Diseño de Vestuario y Mejores Efectos Visuales. Otros títulos que alcanzaron altas postulaciones fueron Once Upon a Time… in Hollywwod (12), Little Women (9), 1917 y Marriage Story (8), y Jojo Rabbit, Joker y Parasite (7).

 Este año, algunos actores lograron una doble nominación por sus trabajos en distintos títulos, como fueron los casos de Laura Dern (Big Little Lies y Marriage Story), Scarlett Johansson (Jojo Rabbit y Marriage Story) y Asante Blackk (This is Us y When They See Us). En el caso de los directores, un grupo consiguió un doble reconocimiento al estar incluidos como Mejor Director y Mejor Guión: Noah Baumbach (Marriage Story), Greta Gerwing (Little Women), Bong Joon Ho (Parasite) y Quentin Tarantino (Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood).

En televisión, la mayor cantidad de nominaciones la obtuvo When They See Us, con 6 postulaciones, seguida por This is Us y Schitt’s Creek (5) y Barry, Chernobyl, Fleabag, Fosse/Verdon, Game of Thrones, The Crown, The Good Fight, Unbelievable y Watchmen (4).
